Lifting Restrictions

Just wondering what lifting restrictions everyone had after two weeks post op. My surgeon told me no more than 10 lbs for the first two weeks, but hasn't stated any titrating restrictions after that.

I think it was less than 20lbs for 6 to 8 weeks after that.

Mine was 20 lbs for 6 weeks.

Mine was 20 lbs for six weeks, but when I spoke with my surgeon before I was d/c home from the hospital, I told him I had a 21 lb toddler at home and he said depending on how I was feeling I could lift him after two weeks. Even at two weeks I would have increased abdominal pain when I lifted things, so I held off. It was about four weeks off that I could finally lift him comfortably.

As always, thank you all for the good information about lifting, though with the weight and the resultant back and joint pain I long since stopped trying to lift much of anything.

A question: how do you all put that little graph up there, the "body weight ticker" -- is that automatic or do I have to download something>?? thanks, pedrito

Told me 10 pounds for 6 months

True, and it depends on your job if it's steady lifting or not. But better to ere on the side of caution.
