Hi new here and just waiting for date for gastric band sugery in Belgium with Dr Dillemens.SElf funded as the NHS would sooner waste money on treating the illnes caused be obesity rather than trying to cure the obesity

    Insurance companies are only beginning to see the light here in the states. More and more are NOW covering the lapband...DO THE MATH--they will eventually look at the bottom line and see it is the best alternative for obesity...hopefully!

    Hi Mike and welcome aboard! In the States we have the same ignorant insurance companies. I'll be paying the whole amount too. I figure I'll earn it back by living longer and having more time to work. Although if I look awesome and feel awesome, I'd rather play than work!
