What a roller coaster it has been the last 4-5 weeks. Long story short I looked into wls 2 years ago and dismissed the idea when I found out my insurance excluded wls. Well fast forward 2 years and I could tell my weight was taking a toll on me and knew it was just a matter of time before I had serious medical issues. Before I went on vacation at the end of September I started kicking around the idea. Well soon after returning from vacation I decided I wanted to pursue it again. In the the last 4 weeks I looked into different options, self pay costs, going to Mexico???, spoke to a few Bariatric groups, selected a surgeon, had egd and various other tests performed, diagnosed with hiatal hernia and set date. Date set for 11/24 and now doing some post-op shopping for protein powder, vitamins and such. While I'm a little nervous not know what the first few week after surgery has in store at the same time I can't wait for the next week to past.
