    Yes, this is common. My surgeon sent me home with instructions to take Colace 100mg, a stool softener. It was hard for me (still is) to have a bowel movement 2+ weeks out.

That's common due to all the protein most of us are required to drink. You will need to drink a lot of water to keep things moving, if not you could have some serious issues. If your having a problem you make need to take some sugar-free Metamucil or fiber supplement. Ask your NUT.

@@ididit34 - I had trouble post-op and miralax is what I was told I could add to my drinks/food, like @Elode had added about getting plenty of Water in your day will help tremendously. Water is your best friend as well.
