Time off work? One week? More?

I was planning on taking one week off of my desk job. I'm hoping that everything goes smoothly enough for that. I am low BMI so possibly that will help.

I've heard of people taking a month off. I'm not quite sure how I could do that especially since I'm not planning on telling anyone the real reason!

How long did you take off?

My doctor has a no driving for two weeks restriction. I am having a hernia repair as well. So I'm thinking the 2 weeks for sure. Not to mention everything we have to get used to. The 3 food stages can be difficult if you don't have access to a kitchen.
