IV site pain

Hello there,

Quick question. Did anyone experience pain where there IV was a week after surgery? My IV was placed on the top of my lower right hand. (Close to the wrist) It really stings when I apply pressure to the spot just above the IV spot. When I feel around, the vein feels a little swollen as well. When they removed the IV, it bled out very fast and they had to apply a good amount of pressure to stop the bleeding. Ended up with a big brown/yellowish bruise around the whole area.

I didn't have the bruises you described, but the IV spot on my left hand did hurt for several days afterwards. I don't remember when exactly it stopped. My right hand was fine. And actually a little over two months out, I can't see the IV puncture spot on my right hand, but I can still see it on my left.
