Hi, I had surgery on Friday the 11th and I've been experiencing back pain on my right side. Did this happen to anyone else?

Yep - but mine was a kidney stone (had this issue long before WLS). Any chance it could be that? Or more likely it could be the way you were positioned during surgery...

Thanks for replying back ???? I did call the doctors office and they said it is normal to have back pain. If there is any shortness of breath then it could be something serious. But thankfully it's just the pain and no other symptoms.

Had surgery on the 10th and have had back pain since. They said its due to the fact that you're lying on such a hard table for so long. Best thing you can do is to get up and walk around.

Thank you I appreciate the reply. I got out and walked the neighborhood twice today.. I'm trying but man does it hurt!

I've also been sleeping with a heating pad at night as well, it's been a big help.

Could be gallbladder. I have to have mine out as soon as RNY heals (so in another couple months). :/
