new to board

I just wanted to introduce myself. I am a 30 year old wife and a mother of 2 boys and 2 girls. I was scheduled for the band on July 2 but during my physical for the surgery they found nodules on my thyroid so instead of having the band I had my thyroid removed. Talk about a change of plans. I will be rescheduling hopefully soon. My case is a little different because I am a revision. About 5 years ago I had a non-adjustable band put on and it has slipped. So I am anxious to have this surgery. Thank you for letting me introduce myself.:)

Hi there, and welcome to LBT. I'm sorry to hear about your thyroid and your change in plans. However, I'm glad things were discovered and dealt with rather than slipping by undetected.

So you'll be waiting for a surgery date, I guess. Keep posting and reading. This is a great place for information and support.

Thank you, and I am very glad that it was found the even better news is that it was not cancer. So now I can move on. My new surgery date is July 24. So I do not have that long to wait. I think I still feel numb to the fact it is going to be happening so soon. But I am ready.

I'm so glad you had good results. No wonder you're feeling numb.

Just think, it's a new beginning for you, a new life ahead.
