Fruit and veggies

At what point post surgery were you allowed to start having fruit and veggies again? 6 weeks? 8?

I had no limitations on my diet after 8 weeks...

I still struggle with some fruits and veggies - I couldn't tolerate a salad until I was one year out. Apples are bad for me. I can eat 1/2 a tangerine and feel OK. Anything more than 5 cherries at one time will send me into great pain. It's trial and error for me!

Salad for me is about 1/3 cup of FINELY cut romaine lettuce and some cherry tomato topped off with some Protein.

Always follow your doc/nut instructions...just because someone else's doc said it was OK to introduce fruit and veggies at a certain point doesn't mean you should to it. This is not a chose your own adventure!

I go to my 8 week appt in a week or so. Just curious what may be added.

I am 8 weeks out now and had s cucumber and tomato salad last night. Just about 2 spoonfuls. It was fine. I was allowed to phase in all foods after 3 weeks leaving crunch vegetables and soft bread for last. I'm not trying soft bread until I'm at goal.

I am 3 1/2 months out & still have a hard time with fruits & veggies. I have very minimal restrictions, but cant seem to eat much after I eat my protein! Now I take a supplement instead & know I am getting my servings in.

At day 10 I was allowed zucchini, summer squash and green Beans. At day 10 I was allowed lettuce, carrots, cucumbers, tomatoes, etc.

I'm 3 months out and still not supposed to have fruits at all. I have had peaches, cantaloupe, strawberries, apples and cherries in small amounts though. The NUT says they have too many carbs and not to eat them.
