Pain in chest on right side - normal?

I started the mushy diet today. My banding was last Thursday. Every time I have eaten, I get a sharp pain on my right side at the top of my ribs or under my right breast. Is this normal? I feel like I am stopping eating before I get full but not sure what this feeling is being caused by. It is better when I lie down but standing up it is sharp and almost throbbing. Please let me know if you have experience this. Thank you so much.

you may still be expelling the gas used to expand your abdominal area. try a heating pad. but your question is definitely one for the doctor if the pain becomes worse.

i would get that too. i think it is actually the lap-band or stomach pressure pain from the band that is traveling to the nerve ending in your chest or shoulder, i had it after my surgery. i thought it was gas pains at first, but after having the band for over 10 years. i have had the pain come back from time to time anytime i aggravated my lap-band. so i am pretty sure it is linked. that being said. i would always have any pain check by a doctor just to sure its not something else.
