Has anyone else had really bad hiccups after surgery? I had RNY bypass yesterday and ever since I've been getting the hiccups.

I get the hiccups when I eat or drink too much. That is how I know when I've had enough.

Hiccups are one of the signs that a person has eaten to much and should stop before they begin dumping. But since you had surgery yesterday (probably still in the hospital with very little food), I think this is too soon for you to encounter this symptom.

Well I just started tracking my milliliters having 30 every 15 minutes so hopefully that will reduce the amount of hiccups I have. I'm obviously having a hard time telling when I'm full. I haven't had too much pain just really when I wake up at first.

I have bad, deep, loud hiccups. My surgeon told me it was from eating/drinking too fast. After 4 months, I still tend to eat too fast.

Congrats on your surgery and good luck!

So aside from the hiccups I'm not really having any other symptoms besides some pressure in my chest. iIs anyone else going through this? It almost feels weird not having the nausea and sickness that everyone else is talking about maybe I'm just being overly cautious with my fluids and not drinking too much now. Maybe I'm lucky. It kind of makes me nervous. Two days post op.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
