Sick before surgery?

So I somehow got upper respiratory infection or another words a bad cold last week and I can't seem to shake it off. My surgery is scheduled for August 10. Anyone ever experienced getting sick like this right before surgery?

I did. Same thing. Very bad cold. I thought for sure they would cancel my surgery. Three days before I called both the nurses in the hospital and the Bariatric practice. They said as long as I was not running a fever or had too much in my lungs they would do it. I passed the needed tests and had the surgery. I will say it mad recovery more difficult. Coughing was VERY painful. They did give me several breathing treatments in the hospital which helped. Good luck!
