Psychological Consult

I have my Psychological consult on Wednesday for my gastric sleeve insurance requirement. How has that session gone for others? I'm a little nervous.

I saw the psychologist affiliated with my program. My impression was that she basically wanted to know about my relationship with food and my exceptions with what surgery would do. I had a 5 page form that I had been given at my first appointment and turned in. It asked about family history, and supports.I wasn't worried going in and just spoke honestly about what I had tried in the past, and what I was doing to ensure that I could be successful. We chatted for about and hour and that was it.

I wasn't nervous going into the conversation or afterwards. It was a pleasant experience for me.

Mine was extremely easy. No written tests. Just a short one on one talk. She asked about my family history, weight history, support system, my understanding of the surgery and my ultimate expectations after surgery. I was completely at ease and she let me know at the end that she would be recommending me for surgery.
