Insurance coverage

I've went to Medicare website to find the requirements and my BMI is 58. Has anyone been approved right away or was it a 6 month wait?

CMS federal guidelines are here. I skimmed did not see a pre surgery requirement period.

Also if you have Medicare advantage they may add additional requirements like an EGD or other testing but have to be minimally the same

No I just have regular Medicare. I meet the requirements. Just want to know how long do people get approved by meeting the BMI requirement

It really depends on the hospital and Surgeons requirements, if your insurance doesn't have stipulations. My dr requires a 6 month weight loss program. NUT visits,

Monthly classes and weigh ins, psych evaluation, and tests. Whether your insurance requires it or not.
