gas pains

I was wondering how long after surgery before they start. I was banded yesterday and I haven't had any yet. Am I lucky or do they start later?:kiss2:Debbie

Hi gbasilio, I was banded last Wednesday 5/20. I was like you, I really had very little pain the first day or so, in fact I did so well I didn't even have to spend the night in the hospital. My surgery was at 7:00am and I was home by 7:00pm. I was home for about 48 hours when I started to feel the gas....I couldn't believe it, I thought I was going to breeze through this ) I didn't get the shoulder and neck pain gas, but boy I sure did get the mid section kind. It was tough going for a day or two. It is now 1 week to the day of my banding and I feel GREAT! I went to the Dr. yesterday and am down 13lbs in two weeks :)) that's including a week of pre-op liquids too. I'm not really even that hungry. Let us know how you're doing.

I do have one issue that I haven't seen anyone mention; I keep belching these big long deep burps. Nothing comes up at all, it's just a ton of air. Has anyone else experienced this and how long will it go on?

Good luck to you all out there.
