  1. Hi Elaine, I'd love to actually talk with you...If you'd like to e-mail me your phone number, I'll give you a call. My e-mail address is paula419@cox.net. If not that's OK too, but I promise I'm not the stocker type, it's just easier to have an actual real time conversation. I do think that 2 lbs is normal/average.
  2. Yes, I did go to Dr. White. He is really a super guy. I was banded on June 20th and have had no problems at all. I've only lost 20lbs so far, I was hoping for a quicker loss, but I'll take what I can get. I feel great and would do it all over again in a minute. Do you live here in Omaha? Have you had your surgery yet? I live by 192nd and Pacific. Good Luck....:hungry:
  3. Hi Everyone, Musicamomma, can I get in on the July challenge too? I could really use the motivation and the accountability. Why you say...Because I am the ultimate procrastinator!!!! My goal is to excercise AT LEAST 4x per week for 30 minutes = 420 minutes (from July 8 - July 31)
  4. Waters, LOL! I know exactly what you mean The same thing happens to me, I'm actually glad to hear it isn't just me. I thought I was losing it. Good luck in the morning .
  5. Krystal, I just found your site for the first time today and just finished reading every ones posts. You are incredibly inspirational!!! Some one else said that this site should be required reading, I couldn't agree more. Keep trying girl, don't give up we're all in this together! Hugs and a BIG THANK YOU for your bravery and honesty!!
  6. Matt, I couldn't agree with you more, about the surgeons not spending enough time to teach us about the band physics. So now the next question is...What is the secret thing called "a stretch"? Curious minds want to know.
  7. Matt and Beverly, Can you please put me on your e-mail list too? Thanks, Paula paula419@cox.net
  8. Matt, I was banded on June 20th. What do you exactly mean by "work the band"? I don't want to be one of the "ones that get off track early"! Are you basically just saying eat really slow or are you talking about cheating the band? I know, that probably sounds like a stupid question, but I'm just a little confused and don't want to blow it. :help:
  9. Don't we all sound like Miss America contestants? ) :usa2: I live in Omaha, Nebraskaaaa!!!
  10. Hi gbasilio, I was banded last Wednesday 5/20. I was like you, I really had very little pain the first day or so, in fact I did so well I didn't even have to spend the night in the hospital. My surgery was at 7:00am and I was home by 7:00pm. I was home for about 48 hours when I started to feel the gas....I couldn't believe it, I thought I was going to breeze through this ) I didn't get the shoulder and neck pain gas, but boy I sure did get the mid section kind. It was tough going for a day or two. It is now 1 week to the day of my banding and I feel GREAT! I went to the Dr. yesterday and am down 13lbs in two weeks ) that's including a week of pre-op liquids too. I'm not really even that hungry. Let us know how you're doing. I do have one issue that I haven't seen anyone mention; I keep belching these big long deep burps. Nothing comes up at all, it's just a ton of air. Has anyone else experienced this and how long will it go on? Good luck to you all out there. Omaha, NE (Dr. White) Age 55 Starting BMI 39 5'4"
  11. Hi Everyone, I'm new to this, I'm being banded next Wednesday June 20th. I keep reading about how important it is to follow the "LB Rules and Guidelines" What are they? I want to make sure I do everything correctly and you guys give the best advice... HELP Thanks
  12. Hi, Does anyone have any experience with Dr. White in Omaha?
  13. Hi Sara, I'm also new here and am getting banded on June 20th, only 6 more days!!!
  14. Hi All....I am so glad I found this site!!! For some dumb reason (go figure) I never thought to look to see if there was a forum for the "lap band" I've had so many questions, NO FEARS. I live in Omaha, Nebraska and am getting my band on June 20th! Only 6 more days!!!! Dr. White is doing the surgery. I am 55 years old 5'4" and weigh 222. My only fear is that I'll be one of the slow losers (Please don't let that be me) For those of you that have done well quickly, what & how did you do it? This is kind of a silly question, but do the fill hurt? I AM SO EXCITED TO START MY LIFE!!!!!!!!!
