Heartburn?

Has anyone else experienced heartburn right after surgery? I'm 10 days post op and have been having heartburn off and on. My surgeon put me on Pepcid before I left the hospital but I'm still having these symptoms. I'm finding myself popping a tums hear and there to help. Why would this be happening if there's no acid in my new stomach?

This is common from what I read (and asked my doctors). I'm on Prevacid for another 4 months (6 months total) post-op. Could be a lot of things. Is something in particular triggering the heartburn (certain foods, sleeping position, etc.)?

I can't pinpoint what specifically is causing it. I feel it a lot when I'm lying down. I have my post op appointment tomorrow and will ask about it.
