Pre-Op Workout

I'm trying to get into the swing of things before having my surgery, which if course includes working out. I joined a gym and met with a personal trainer who emphasized strength training, but I also hear that cardio is more important. I seem to be getting conflicting information and I just don't know where to start. Especially with strength training, I can't afford the personal trainer and I don't want to get hurt. Suggestions?

Hello again amy! I see an exercise specialist once a month and she told me to start by walking 20 mind a day.. work up to 30 mins by the next month.. add 10 more mins a month till walking an hour.. and throw in any workout dvd when I feel up to it. She wants me to push myself but not to the point I don't want to work out the next day

My dr told me after my surgery is complete I am only allowed to walk for the 1st few month due to the risk of injuries. So you may what to check with your dr 1st.I know as everyone says ever dr is different
