I am having RNY on June 30 and am currently doing the liquid diet/protein shakes for a week. My headaches are sooooo bad. I can only take Tylenol but it's not doing much. Any advice is appreciated!!

Jell... It's the caffeine. My surgery is the 30th, too! Yay! I just dropped the coffee and I've got a small hammer pinging behind my eyeballs. It was a larger hammer last night so I guess that's pr

Are you drinking enough Water? Being dehydrated will make that headache worse. I am guessing you are in the first day or two of that diet?

Also, just a question, did you just drop caffeine? If so that might be making the headache and it should go away.

Try essential oils like peppermint. This works great for headaches as well.

If you are not detoxing from caffeine I would bet you are not drinking enough which will definately cause that headache.

For me by day four, I no longer felt hungry nor did I have a headache once I figured out the hydration issue. I had quit caffeine years before so I knew it was fluids.

Good luck! You can do this, you are so close to surgery. Keep your eye on the prize!

Yes, I did just drop caffeine. Actually, Pepsi in particular. I was in the mind frame of "well I won't ever be drinking this again, I better live it up!"

I feel like I'm drinking a lot of water but much of it is flavored (crystal light) so maybe that's adding to the headache. I was soooo miserable last night I ate (well, sucked on so they would last) a few semi-sweet choc chips and my headache went away enough for me to sleep. However, I felt very guilty!!!
