Having a rough day. Need some encouragement.

Two weeks post-op today. Has really been going well, but for some reason, I am having a very emotional day today - I can't stop crying (and I haven't cried since well before my surgery!). Not sure what is wrong (other than maybe a little work stress as I am working from home and had a stressful day yesterday). I return to work (my actual desk) on Monday. I start mushy foods tomorrow and scared about getting sick. Not sure if that is what is adding to the emotions, but need some reminders that this was a good decision and I shouldn't regret it. I emailed my counselor (who I will see next Tuesday) and she is just reminding me to stay in the present and not think about the long road ahead. (FYI, its not hormones - I had a hysterectomy nearly 2 years ago).

Help (and thank you).

About three weeks after my surgery I was out running errands with my Mom and we went to get pet food. I was in the parking lot and suddenly smelled bread from the Schlotzsky's in the same parking lot.

About three weeks after my surgery I was out running errands with my Mom and we went to get pet food. I was in the parking lot and suddenly smelled bread from the Schlotzsky's in the same parking lot. I cried for like an hour. I felt (briefly) as if I'd ruined my life. I could never eat good food again (mushy food was not going well for me because at this point I still NEVER felt hungry). After I'd finished up I wondered what the hell was wrong with me. That was the first time of many times that I felt like a great big sob. I am sure some of mine WAS hormones. But I also think I was just scared at the enormity of what I had done. I was barely able to force myself to drink a little bit of beef broth, I was scared that I would somehow be unsuccessful, and I was also a little disappointed that I hadn't already lost more weight. It's an emotional process. Mostly the emotions are very positive, but it's completely normal to have a bad day. Looking at your ticker, you've already done an amazing job with the weight loss. I hope your day gets better.
