I have my first assessment with the doctor next week. Do most insurance and make you go through psych, diet pre-surgery etc? Do any let you go ahead with just their criteria met as far as weight and BMI?

It seems like most have some pre surgery requirements, If you google 'bariatric surgery' and "your insurance" you may find their policy. My dr also has some pre-reqs- psych, 5% weight loss, lots of dietician and related appts.

I think most do. I have a friend who had Lapband who didn't have to jump through any hoops. I wish my insurance was that easy!
