Glad to be here!

My name is Ellen and I was banded July 7, 2003, by Dr. Marina Kurian at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City.

Although I am new to the band, I feel like I was well prepared for it. I have been thinking about it for nearly a year, and I respected this as a big step.

I weighed 355 at my first consult, and about 9 pounds less than that on the day of surgery. According to my home scale, I weighed 325 the day before yesterday. But I will have a more accurate number tomorrow, when I go for my two-week followup.

I have received so much valuable information from the various Lap Band forums all over the Internet. I hope I get to give back!
