You know the journey for a weight loss surgery patient is forever. There’s the pre-op preparation and diet, the surgery and recovery, the weight loss with its plateaus and triumphs, and then maintenance.

“Forever” is a long time. How can you keep yourself motivated? How do you continue to make physical and personal progress throughout the journey?

BariatricPal wants to support our VIP members. That’s why we’re suggesting some weekly challenges. We’ll guide you through each step so you don’t have to worry. Please "follow" the "A Better You, One VIP Week at a Time" forum to receive updates about our weekly VIP challenges.

No matter where you are, you can join in these weekly activities. Some activities may be easy for you; maybe they’re something you’re already used to doing. Others may be a little farther from your comfort zone. Feel free to challenge yourself if you want; nobody’s judging you, and you may experience some personal growth and maybe even a little extra weight loss and fun along the way!

Please provide feedback about these weekly activities. We want to know what you think about them. What do you like? What can we do better? Do you have any ideas for a challenge? Remember, this is all about you. You’re the VIP!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
