You can do this!! Hang in there as its only temporary... I am on Day 9 with surgery this friday the 15th. It DOES get easier and I have lost about 20 pounds on the pre-op which is a head start for after surgery!

Good luck!!

What is the pre-op diet as I would like to start loosing some weight before my surgery and i beleive my surgery might be scheduled in june and i want to loose quiet a bit because i have a wedding to attend to in first week of aug and since i dont have much time after my surgery i am hoping that i loose some before. so if you could please share i would truly appreciate it

The pre-op diets vary from surgeon to surgeon...mine was eating every two hours...i could interchange light yogurt, sf pudding and sugar free applesauce...8 ounces of gatorade a day and a protein shake for lunch and dinner

free foods were chicken broth and sf jello

Some report being allowed to eat light meals at dinner and various other combinations

Ask your nutritionist and I am sure they can give you a copy of what they follow

@Shrinking Peach- Thank you :)

I believe I can start some of these early. Can you please give me an idea of what your typical day with meal are kind of . It does not have to be exact, but that should help me get an idea of the kind of food I can have for Breakfast, lunch, dinner. And I can take it from there. I call my nutritionist, but not very helpful

sugar free Popsicles saved me and still do!

4 weeks post op and doing well!

My pre-op diet was 2 meals replaced with a Protein shake (I used Premier protein), and 3 oz of meat, 1 cup of veggies, 1 cup of fruit...snacks throughout the day were 1 cup of fruit, all I want chicken broth, sugar free Popsicles and jello! I made it by having a spoonful of Peanut Butter when I got hungry sometimes.
