Dancing after surgery

Hi Everyone,

I am an avid, habitual dancer (dance anytime that is possible). If I haven't danced in at least a day, I get super jittery. I am not a professional dancer, but I just love the movement. I am scheduled for the surgery on June 2 and I was wondering how soon were patients able to go back to such activity without the stomach pains? Your story does not have to be dance specific, but anything physical that you often do! Thanks for the feedback in advance!

Hi,

They want you active right away after surgery. Since the surgery is laprascopic you are able to do more sooner than you would if you had a different surgery. I started walking right away. I think they recommended waiting until 6 weeks out to really start pushing yourself. You will feel weak in the beginning because of the liquid diet so you will want to take it easy anyway. You could always do your routines but just modify it to be lower impact.

Good Luck!
