Two Day after Surgery, am I drinking to much?

Hey I had the surgery 5/5/15 and I was wondering I came home today 5/7/15 and I drank 8 oz of broth at the hospital, 6 oz of crystal light, and 8 oz of tea. Once I got home I drank two more 8 oz of broth and 8 oz of a protien shake from 4 pm until 8 pm in a short period of time. I am concerned that I am drinking to much and I not getting full. I don't want to over do it or strench out my stomach.

  • I am no expert, but I don't think your over drinking. I would drink more Protein shakes rather than broth, IMO. They are more filling and give higher protein.

  • I met with my Nutritionist today and he told us to drink 1-2 ounces every 15 minutes. Your protein at the top of the hour and other liquids every 15 minutes during the 2 week post-op stage. Slow sips,

I was given Protein day 2 at the hospital and have always been encouraged to get in as much as possible. I don't think you can drink too much. As far as I know, fluids pass right through your sleeve

I was told I could not have protein until day 10....did you get a packet from your nutritionist????

Yes I did

You're doing great. Be grateful you are able to keep hydrated so well. I was getting 64oz fluids by the 3rd day and 60g protein by the 5th day. liquid runs right through your sleeve it can't "stretch" anything out and You won't feel full until you start eating solid food.
