Had my surgery yesterday. Feeling great.

I had surgery yesterday too but I'm not feeling so good :( my stomach hurts whenever I try to drink something. I don't take gulps just sips. The nurses at the hospital told me that's normal. Is there anyone else who have experienced this?

smcobos2 yes it is normal. I am taking really small sips. I had a really large hernia that had to be repaired. The hernia is right below and between my breast. So I have to very small sips. Popciles were my lifesavers.

Hang in there smcobos2. You can do this. I walked a lot and help me get the gas out and kept my off the pain and what I couldn't do.

Thank you for support! I feel a lot better today. Woke up at 1:30 am and walked around my house for about 45 min. It helped immensely :-)

Everything went well for me during surgery. My Dr. said he repaired a good size hernia. I'm fighting the battle of gas pains. I have been walking but it isn't moving...

Yes that happened to me too. Don't be discouraged keep walking it will help move the gas. Also when I walked I tried taking deep breaths. When I was standing up and walking it allowed me expand my diaphragm making it easier to take deep breaths. Doing this and using the incentive spirometry helps prevent pneumonia.

My surgery went well too! Feeling more pain today than yesterday but walking lots and drinking fluids. So glad to be on the other side!

Just curious as to what others drinking today and for the next two days.

I'm drinking water, Powerade Zero, broth and a little Unjury. Trying to keep a variety!

So far I'm only drinking water. I've been slowly drinking my protein shake. I am having trouble with the pain after I drink something. Do you have this problem too? It's taking me a whole day just to finish a bottle of water :o I'm a bit worried about that

@abbyrn27. How does that unjury taste? Are you mixing it with the power ade?

My hospital mixed it with lactose free skim milk (the chocolate kind) and I really liked it. It wasn't too sweet which I liked. I'm going to order some now that I know I like it. I also tried the chicken broth one and that was good too.
