8 week pre-op, anyone else?

I weighed in at 305, BMI 42. The 1st visit at the doctor he said to start pre op immediately. I have at least 8 weeks before surgery, still need EGD and nut appt. He said I must loose at least 10 lbs. With 3 shakes a day totalling under 1000 calories...I will be way over 10 lbs! What if I drop below 40 bmi? Will insurance still cover surgery? Has anyone else dealt with this?

Depends on your insurance, some take the BMI at your first appt when you start. And losing weight in the time while waiting for surgery looks good for insurance. I would call your insurance and ask what their requirement is
