  2. Hello all, I've been doing ok, Dr is happy with progress. HW 307 4/1/15 SW 289 6/1/15 Last weight check 225 10/1/15 So, I'm 60% down from goal at 4 months. I would like to be goal by Christmas. Loss has slowed considerably, had a unrelated surgery, a month out and was just able to really excersise this past 3 weeks (that's when loss slowed). Anyone else loose less the more they do? Do I need more calories/protein? I get 60 to 70 a day.
  3. My weight loss has slowed, not stopped completely. A couple pounds a week. Its frustrating. I just found out I need another surgery (non related to stomach) but it's going to keep me from excersise for about 4 to 6 weeks. Praying I don't gain or lose progress. I am really focused on protein and liquids now. Still can't drink water or anything with artificial sweeteners...anyone else???
  4. I'm down 52lbs total, 32 since surgery. I hit stall for about a week. I had a small vacation, very hard to eat on the go, but arbys has turkey, and Wendy's grilled chicken wrap(only ate chicken and cheese) was good. I'm dealing with temps in the upper 90s, trying to excersise is hard as is staying hydrated. I drink over 64oz, but in this heat and humidity, it's not enough. My stomach won't hold more and heat makes me nauseous.. Anyone else? Going to swim today, if it stays under 100!

  6. That's great! I'm down 29 since surgery. I'm on soft, not pureed now. So I've been able to chew meat and cooked veggies, but can only get in about 7 small bites before I'm full. Then I get hungry about 2.5 hour later, but I try to only eat every 3.5 to 4 hours. Getting in 1 shake and 3 "meals" a day. About 4 to 500 calories. Still kind of weak, especially after walking. Not sure how to increase without it hurting. Water is hard, but I get it in, barely.
  7. Sounds like you are doing well! I hit "the stall" as well. I seem to be going again, but a little slower pace. I have increased my activity and can't wait for clearance on lifting weights again so I can avoid the loose skin as much as possible. How is the "food" going? I seem to be hungry quite a bit, but I'm so afraid of eating too much, maybe I'm not eating enough?
  8. I'm a little different in my take on things. I know other people that had surgery a couple years before me. Whenever I asked, "can I have ...*something" after surgery, their answer was always, go ahead...1 bite or sip and you'll know! Yes, I followed rules of the stages, but out of fear of puncturing the staple line. As for carbonation...the jury is still out, no proof either way on stretching. However, if you got fat eating pizza and beer, don't eat pizza and beer! If that is your once a month treat and can keep it to half a slice and wait 15 to 30 min and drink a half a beer...go for it. My thought is, if you do it too soon, you will get sick and will remember that feeling. If you wait until you can Handel it...it won't hurt you. At least not physically. As for calories, carbs and whether it's worth it, that's for you to decide, not us! I craved frozen coke for 2 months, had 2 sips of my husband's about a month out and burped like Charlie in the chocolate factory! Was it worth it, I don't know...but I won't have it again for several months, if ever. That's my point. Try what you want, as long as it's not Doritos on a new sleeve (puncture posibility), you'll know if your sleeve can take it.
  9. Ok, question...can you be constipated with the runs? I've had horrible abdominal pain for a week now. Doctor said it's nothing to worry about, no leak or other issues. I "go" only if I take MOM but then it's difficult and runny. Started probiotic with fiber, helps some, but really tired of this crampy pain, gas x helps too, but still in pain. Could there be a blockage if I'm still going?

  12. That is kind of what it feels like, although, worse than I'm used to in that department. I was told by a nurse that had it...hormones and your cycle can be more in volume afterwards...maybe that's it, has been 3 weeks!?!?
  13. I tried gas x, helped a little, but it's not a sharp gas pain, more of a bloated full feeling, lower than my stomach. I've struggled even sleeping on my stomach, which was not an issue a couple days ago. I have a call into my doc, I don't go back for 2 weeks. Have you started pureed or soft foods recently?
  14. Oh yes, it's real and extremely frustrating! I dropped 20lbs in 14days...then nothing for a week now. Trusting the plan, I never heard of anyone that didn't loose at least 75lbs after surgery...but I'm not the most patient!
  15. I'm having similar pain, I'm pretty sure it's bowel related. I'm never constipated, and I've been going at least once a day (sorry for the Tmi). However, it is lower than the stomach, I had had a c.t. scan, no leak. Try a stool softener or maybe something a little stronger. Our sleeve is getting used to a change in textures after many weeks of liquid and things maybe clogging up.
  16. Perhaps I'm different than most, but I've tried tuna and egg salad, neither went well. Cottage cheese with pureed fruit went ok. I also took soups and put them in the nutribullet and added unflavored protein.

  18. Everything does seem much sweeter than before.
  19. I like being able to eat new stuff, but it's hard to get in protein and fluids and still have room for more. I added unflavored protein to broccoli cheese soup. It had so much flavor from protein shakes and jello! Gonna try cottage cheese today.
