I made sure I ate at my 2 fav restaurants. I remember I ate about 12 crabmeat ragoons. They are very rich. I was so disappointed I couldn't eat more at one sitting. I ate two baskets of chips and salsa , mexican entree and mex dessert. Coke after coke after coke with mexican too.

Yes I pigged out.

Being the only heavy person in an extended family of normal to thin people, I didn't tell them about the surgery while I was going through the pre-op testing and evals. When I got my date (a Wednesday) I called my mother and made arrangements to visit for the weekend. As always, she asked if there was anything special I wanted her to cook.

Anything special? I had a list! She and my aunt had 6 meals planned and I enjoyed every bite of all my favorite foods, knowing it was a "goodbye party" for me.

After dinner on Sunday, I told everyone about the upcoming surgery. They were supportive and intrigued . . . and amused by my meal requests, which now made more sense to them.

I'm blessed that my family has been cheering me on from the beginning. And now that I'm wearing a 12-14, they've become a great source of hand-me-down clothing, too!

I did too. I went to every favorite restaurant that I had for lunches and dinner before my pre op - Do I regret it, not really, I am happy with my weight loss and my style of eating is going to change for the rest of my life so I gave myself the last supper syndrome and enjoyed while I could.

My doctor tricked me. I went for my preOP checkup the night before my schedule surgery, afterward I was planning a huge Mexican feast (I was in Mexico afterall) but when I got to the hospital for the pre-op, he says' Here put this on..." hospital gown, and wheeled me into surgery! Oh why not, I said... but i did feel cheated!

I had so many last suppers with my supportive friends, they asked when was the REAL Last Supper.:) The REAL Last Supper was Sunday before my surgery at Carrubus. But amazingly, I began to loose my appetite before the surgery, for fear I would gain weight. My surgery was on May 31st.

My Dr. is very strict about not doing the surgery if you gain any weight. I actually gained 1/2 lb, but he SURPRISINGLY agreed to do the surgery anyway.:kiss

So have your LAST SUPPERS :hungry: and enjoy every bit of it. I hope you will have as good of an experience as I have had in the past 11 days. Having this surgery has certainly been a Blessing!!!!

I had to start my pre op diet 2 days after I was told when my surgery date was, but I sure tried to fit as much as I could into that 2 days. Makes me ill now to think how much I used to eat (A lg Big Mac meal and 6 nuggets was my last pre-band fatty-me sized meal. Gah!!).

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
