14 days to go....

I'm 14 days pre-op and started my liquid diet today. I hope the next two weeks goes by incredibly fast. I'm pretty nervous but also excited. My "support staff" (family, boyfriend, friends, personal trainer, surgeon, PCP) are all rooting for me, and it's helping me get through each day of the countdown. My boyfriend is doing the liquid diet with me (solidarity!), I hope we don't spend the next two weeks snapping at each other because we are "hangry" haha.

April 6, 2015 8AM, my life changes forever for the better!

If you need me, I'll be crying in the break room with a Jello cup (LOL)

  • @@skc72 Thanks, that's the plan. I'm going to run errands on lunch so I don't have to see/smell foods. I cleaned out my fridge yesterday and took everything I can't have over to my parents' so it

  • Don't be scared! I'm a little nervous but mostly excited. I'm excited about what the rest of my life will be like because I made this choice. You'll be asleep. In the hands of trained and capable staf

Day 3 (yesterday) was harder because I had a lab appt for which I had to be fasting. When I have those type of appts I try to get them out of the way, but I didn't have a choice in scheduling. They didn't see me til 12. So I had nothing but water from rise til the appt. It threw off my day, from there I had to play catch up on my protein intake and fluids. So in the later afternoon, I had that same low energy/cranky thing from day one. Blech. Only one more of those appointments, this Monday. Its at 9AM so hopefully that'll be a better day.

That's determination.

You are a couple days ahead of me so I enjoy reading about people who are around the same time frame as I am.

@ meSparkle83 hey lady, how is everything going? How are you holding up after day 2? Remember it gets easier. I am looking fwd to tues, but im becoming a nervous wreck. Never had surgery so a bit on edge...@@blashlee round of applause for you. I had blood work this morning and had to fast last night as well...by the afternoon, i thought i was going to turn into the hulk as starvation set in. Day 10 down for me. Keeping it moving ladies, almost there.

Hello lady, I'm doing fine.

I'm hanging in there. You will go great. You have done an awesome job through this process.

PlZ keep me informed on ur progress.

Today is day 3 and I feel wonderful. Yes, I am going to keep it moving.

Have a great day #11

Day 3 seems to be harder than the first two. I'm pushing forward. I'm counting down the hours till I reach my bed????????

@meSparkle83 I feel you. Today's proving to be difficult. I had my last workout with my trainer last night. It wasn't anything crazy, but it seems like today my body is looking for something to replenish from that. And i work in an office setting, and Friday is a day people seem to have potlucks and bring in food and stuff. I've been smelling stuff all day. Sitting idle (i work at a desk) doesn't help either. I need to find a way to occupy myself when the lunches come out. 4 days down, 10 to go...Will be nice when those numbers switch places LOL

Keep pushing!!

Another difficult day. I'm not sure if other factors contributed (waiting for my period to manifest, being off the pill to prep for surgery has made it random and unpredictable and just downright rude) but I was pretty miserable. I struggled with hunger and cravings and couldn't manage to stay busy enough even though I was terribly busy. I ran in the morning, cleaned 70% of my apartment, did laundry (I even folded it!) and filled up on protein, iced tea and SF Popsicles. Finally I got so frustrated that I just took a nap in the arms of my sweetie (he's doing this liquid thing with me, and thank god for him, it's been a big help). I felt somewhat better. Went to the mall. Had more tea. Had to pass on a dinner invite, which made me miserable again. Came home and had some lemony chicken broth and more damn protein, Jello, and iced tea. Glad the day's over. Only 8 more to go.

You hang in there miss lady, you have came so very far. The light is shining at the end of the tunnel.

I was frustrated as hell yesterday because my Aunt is doing the liquid diet with me and she has lost 4 more pounds than I have. I'm like ..WTF...

But I laid here and came to the conclusion that I lost too so I needed to just focus on myself.

Hang in there girl, we dropping these days like flies..lol

My boyfriend is doing it with me and he's losing like a pound or two a day. Which im super happy about. He's overweight also and wanted to explore surgery but doesn't wanna ordeal the Kaiser process. The last 3 days for me the scale hasn't moved and I was super frustrated. But then I realized, DUH, it's because of my period.

Today's going to be hard too, Palm Sunday dinner at my family's. Would skip it but that wouldn't be ok. Gonna power through that somehow.

@ meSparkle83 @ blashlee hang in there ladies. This is nothing but a test and it get hard before it becomes easy. The days are passing by and soon we will all be winning on the other side. I can definitely relate to what your going through. This liquid diet is very rough. Ive had such a stinking attitude for the past couple of days because i wanted to eat. I didnt want to talk to anyone or do anything, just stay to myself. I almost gave up but i kept looking at the calendar thinking tues is right around the corner and I got this. Just think how strong we are for having to even endure this part of the journey and great we will feel once we reach the end. We got this ladies...our rainbow is within reach.

@ MeSparkle83 I am doing ok. A mixture of nervousness and excitement all in one. Ive been trying to get my house in order and busy myself to put me at ease. My bag is all packed and I am counting down. How are you doing on your pre-op? I hope its gotten easier for you. Thank you for the prayers...i really appreciate it:)

@ blashlee hope you made it through the dinner ok as well.

I'm excited for you. I had a mini melt down yesterday but I'm cool now. I'm still sticking to it.

Tomorrow is the day for you, I want to say good luck and all will go well.

Hope to hear from you soon.

@@blashlee, good luck, and keep us posted. How exciting! That is absolutely wonderful that your boyfriend is supporting you so well. If he keeps it up, your entire journey will be so much easier.
