No but I specialize in Dialysis and I've had the surgery

I was told by my nephrologist that kidney dialysis was not too far off in the distant future for me. When I started this journey I was stage 3 CKD. It is the reason I had bypass surgery in the first place. My nephrologist was the doctor who suggested I considef WLS and he is my hero!

I am now 5.5 months post op and two weeks ago I went in for my kidney function testing. Guess what, my kidneys are functioning at a normal level now! Knowing that you cannot repair your kidneys I asked the question: what am I supposed to say on medical forms when it asks the question do you have kidney problems. I was told that I need to say that I have had a previous history of kidney disease but am now functioning at a normal level!

No dialysis in my future! Woot woot!
