I've been on the "full liquid diet" for about a week now, my surgery was 10 days ago. At first it was pretty good but now I'm so sick of the sweet shakes. Ive tried diluted ones with water and milk and still can't stand them! My calorie intake was way too low and I was feeling really weak. I need to up my calories.
I decided to try the Unjury chicken soup with Swanson chicken broth, that really hit the spot! It was really savory and satisfying. Since then I have added tomato soup to it.
Last night I made tomato soup with non fat milk and added the Unjury 1/2 scoop unflavored protien powder, that was really good too and today had strained cream of chicken soup mixed with non fat milk. I heated it, strained it and then added 1/2 scoop of the protien powder. Remember the 140 degrees rule.
And one other find, Bariatric Advantage "Orange Creme" not sickening sweet. I mixed with non fat milk and ice in my Magic Bullet...... so good!
If anyone has some recipes to help get through the " full liquids " phase and keep our protien intake up please share.
