Is surgical clearance appointment approval?

Just got a call from my surgeons office this afternoon(I missed it unfortunately). The lady said I need to set up my surgical clearance appointment. All my paperwork has already been submitted. So does this mean I was approved for surgery and that I'm going to be starting the 2 week pre op diet?

you should/need to make a phone call back to docs office

office must OFFICIALLY/should tell you that you''ve been approved :)

i wanted "them" to send me my approval in a letter :)

i think its good to have a piece of paper showing your approval from ins :)

instead of a phone call that you can't prove (even if you take that persons name, they could have made a mistake)

"surgical clearance" sounds like lab work, sleep, psych exams etc

THEN the paperwork would be submitted to insurance

you need/should wait to hear from insurance

i had a prob with ins - i was told i was approved, yet i really wasnt

post op, after many "discussions" i was approved

buttttt.......this is just my opinion

you need to get more info

good luck

Typically a surgeon doesn't schedule a surgery clearance (pre-Op) appointment unless one has been approved. Signs are pointing in that direction. But! Best to get it from the horse's mouth. Give um a call. Good luck!

Yeah I did call back, their office was closed. Ugh. I've done all of my appointments so I know it wouldn't be any labs or anything like that because everything has been submitted and completed. Just wondering( since it's the weekend and now I'll have to wait till Monday) if this is a good sign for approval and a possible surgical date.
