I walk 100k steps a day. To do so, set a timer for 55 minutes everyhour. When it goes off walk for 5 minutes. Thats 40 minute in an 8 hour period or about 10K steps. I have found doing this gives me the exercise and calorie burn I need.

I hear your struggle. I just finally sat my family down and told them I needed me time. (Gym time) they take turns cooking on the nights I work out now. :-)

Now granted that's normally when they grab pizza and stuff that I won't eat lol

I'm doing well making that time NOW - but at first it was a huge struggle, as your message attests to @carolvalen ! I remember being told once that all you have to agree/motivate doing is putting on your workout clothes. Just do that, and don't even think about working out or walking. Just put on the clothes - easy, right? By the time I did that i was always up for at least a 5 minute walk, which of course led to 30 minutes or an hour most of the time. Look for things about exercise that are rewarding too. My C25K app was free and i loved the little encouragement message I got to hear each time I finished a session. For a while I also put a little note on the hangar where I kept my workout shirt saying "You can do this!" and saw it every time I put them on or took them off. Silly, but still nice to see both before and after.

And by the way, You CAN do this!

Kate

Thanks @katesuccess. I don't think it's silly at all that's a good idea. I will try this tomorrow. The good thing is I work from home ( babysit) so I will dig out the good stroller and tomorrow I'm off for a new adventure.

I joined a gym 5 minutes away from my job. I go before I go home because I know once I get in the house, I won't go back out. I also go Saturday mornings. My family dinner time has been pushed back but I had to do it for me. Some days I use the crockpot and delayed start on my oven so dinner is ready when they want it.

Schedules are tough....but at least they are easier to manage as the health continues to improve.

I work 12 hour rotating shifts and used to feel dead on my feet after work....stumble into bed and done. Rinse & repeat daily.

That was just working the normal schedule.

Now, I find myself doing all sorts of stuff after work and my days off are much more packed with active living.

The gym time has finally come for me and the energy I got from yesterday's session has me amped up and feeling better today. I'll have to find a way to make it work. Gym time on work days is going to be tough.....but I'll figure out a way.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
