Average surgery time

I am seeing people write that their surgery is about 90 minutes long....

I am having a gastric sleeve done on February 16. I was told by my surgeon that it averages about 5 hours long. What about you?

I feel great! I felt sore after my surgery. For me the first two weeks were hard. I couldn't wait to get the drain out! It went pretty fast and I couldn't imagine it would have been this successfu

I was told 2-3 hours. I was also told that open procedures are shorter, ,around 90 minutes.

My surgery was 2&1/2 hrs long. Is your doc going to repair a hernia? Was it the doc who told you 5hrs?

My Dr. told me about 3-4 hours. I went in at 10a and woke up at 2:30p in recovery. I didn't have any other surgeries with it. No complications. They did a leak test while I was under.

Mine was little over an hour. I didn't have any thing else done.

Congratulations! You will do great!

I don't understand why people are going home with drains. I guess this is another indication of how each surgeon is different. My drain will come out before they discharge me.

I never had a drain at all. I assume a leak test happened while I was under. I am 20days post op and it has been a very easy recovery.
