Newbie from Northwestern Missouri

Hi, all! Just taking a moment to introduce myself. I have my pre-op visit with my surgeon tomorrow and do labs and EKG. I am so ready for this!!

Initial visit was 01/03/07, but my insurance required a psyche eval and 8 pre-surgery food counseling sessions with a nutritionist before approval. They approved me on 05/09/07.

I'm very lucky as I have a very supportive family, friends and even co-workers. I have two co-workers who've had the surgery and one friend; all with great stories and experiences. And on the other end, I know several people who've had different bariatric surgeries with horrible results.

I am mom to two adorable children, daughter 3 years 1 month and son 20 months. My husband and family are all very supportive of my decision, so I know I am very lucky and blessed.

    Welcome, Beckie. Congratulations on your decision to be banded. I'm so envious of you doing this while your children are so young. My son is 14 and I want to get this weight off in time to do things together.
