Cancelled Surgery

9 days into my pre-op, (14days required) I cancelled my surgery today, I found out this weekend my support system was NOT supporting my decision to have surgery wholeheartedly. I will try to lose the weight on my own again. wish me luck! Thanks for all the support on BariatricPal. Goodbye.

  • Sleeve101, I just read all your posts and learned: * Pre-op, you were anemic (low red blood cell count), and your Mexican surgeon almost didn't do your surgery, but relented and did it anyway. *

  • @@ojibway ??????? I'm very confused. Are you saying you cancelled your surgery because your family or friends did not want you to have it? Is this correct? Or do you mean that you were hoping that

  • As always with this forum, you are going to experience that opinions and tact will vary, especially when a post is not all sunshine and roses. I am sad that your weight loss has become about someone

@@HappygoSusan Thank you for sharing! I'm 6 weeks post op now and I think I'm doing better! :-) I'm glad to know that I'm not alone in how I feel. Knowing that others have been where I am and they got through it, gives me hope and encouragement! I'm happy to hear you are doing so well now. I think I'm on my way too. I'm going to see a therapist about my feelings/depression.

I went to a nutritionist and got some advice. I'll be going to an endocrinologist next week too for a thorough check. I have hypothyroidism and anemia and other Vitamin difficiencies so I know that has a lot to do with my overall health right now.

Everyday gets better and I'm starting to feel better. Your story really helps! Thank you for sharing! :-)

I have a pitutitary adenoma so I see an endo as well. Thankfully I've been mostly asymptomatic since surgery. I had bloodwork done the week before my sleeve and it was normal for me. My prolactin level is always high due to the adenoma but it was within limits from what is usually is. I just got my 3 mth bloodwork from the VSG and so far everything is normal. In fact my B12 was high so I only have to take that once a week now.

@@Sleeve101 - I hope everything checks out for you.

That's great!!!! And thank you! I'm looking forward to being normal again...I've lost 33 pounds since Nov 20th....I'm looking much better and it helps put a smile on my face! :-D
