Hit a stonewall

I am 6 days into my Pre-op. Doing great. I just keep thinking about the complete lifestyle change I am about to make on Jan 5th. I am sure I am not ready.. I know it is normal to have doubts, I am self pay and can get my $$ back. Does anyone know what the rate of cancellation is?

The rate of cancellation isn't that high through my military program. They have a rule that if you cancx your surgery date twice....it will not happen through their facility period. My friend cancx back in October. She tried to reschedule and now she is on an indefinite waiting list. Needless to say, she completely regrets succumbing to nerves...especially as she sees my almost 70 lb weight loss.

My experience involves my military base. I'm sure it is much more flexible with self pay.

Why do you not feel you are ready? This would be something to work on the nutritionist and/or psych. it's always going to be challenging for us. It's best to work on developing better coping skills now. Perhaps just slow things down instead of straight up backing out.

I feel like I am not doing it for myself, but for friends and family. I am usually the person that makes everyone else happy and forgets about myself. I told my wife and friends I will make a final decision by the end of this weekend and will continue the Pre-op until I make a final decision.

It's good to realize you are a people pleaser. Now ask yourself how do you feel about your weight? If you have co-morbidities how does carrying that extra weight feel?
