I have PCOS...

And I am really thinking about have a weightloss surgery. I have an appointment with Dr on January 7th to discuss. My question is if anyone else here has had the surgery and which one with a diagnosis of PCOS? Also how much weight have you lost and do you feel it was a slower weightloss due to having PCOS? Love seeing pics also...

  • I had borderline PCOS and insulin resistance. I've lost about 90 lbs and my periods regulated...and know I just got a surprise BFP this month! I've heard some very positive things about WLS and PCO

  • I'm so glad to hear all this. There is hope yet that one day I will have a baby.

  • Does anyone know which sugery would be better for PCOS. The sleeve or bypass

I'm new here & pre surgery but I have PCOS too and I'm grateful to hear so many success stories because I have my own fears about losing the weight. It has always been so hard & slow to lose weight for me and I worry if I will lose weight with surgery the way so many others have or if it will be difficult because of my PCOS. I have about 200lbs to lose but I am hopeful!

I think (in my case anyway) IMO that its harder for me with PCOS to lose weight...even with the band...I lost 12 lbs in the past month but I'm not counting on that to be the norm every month & my doc says it can even be 1/2 lbs or less a week losing...but I'm Ok with ANY weight loss as you can see I have to lose 200+ also but I am just going to take it one day at a time... and face each day as it comes...that's all I can do.. I am keeping a positive outlook no matter what! I believe in the power of positive thinking :-) It's Hard work & it's Not easy but I know we can do it!!
