Mine was 4 weeks. Suck it up, you can do this. B) One more week is not a big deal (though believe me I remember that it seemed like forever!). This is a good time to get in the habit of following your doctor's plans and not wandering off on your own path. You will get through it, I promise.

Clear liquid 1 day PO

Full liquids 10-14days as tolerated

Mash/soft 10-14 days as tolerated.

At 1 month PO I was on my forever diet. I'm 5.5 weeks out and can eat anything now.

Liquids 3 days

Puréed 11 days

Now on soft for a week

Two weeks of liquids, and 2 days post-op

@@GeorgiaT It's different because all our surgeons have different requirements to follow.

I was surprised at the fluctuation too. But maybe some cases are different. My surgeon says your body needs the nutrition from food so he pushes for that. I think a month of liquids is insane personally. Not much nutritional value in broth.

Funny, I asked this question Wednesday at my pre-op appt and the bariatric nurse said due to the unique techniques each surgeon uses, they derive plan based upon their surgical methods. That's why people advise that you only follow the directive of your physician.

when we probably all were thinking, hey don't the all just cut part of your stomach off... LMAO... well nope ...surgeons are just like artists, that's what they do but all have different methods....

My physician also requires

Clear Liquids PO 1 day

Full liquids 14 days as tolerated

Mash/soft 14 days as tolerated.
At 5 weeks our forever diet.

My date is this Tuesday 12/23

2 weeks full liquids, pureed weeks 3-4, soft foods 4 -6 and whatever I can tolerate 6 weeks on.
