Looking for a buddy in PA

Recommended Posts

Hi! I'm Faith. I'm 31, single and pre-op about 2 months or so in. Struggling with the pre-op expectation of losing 10% of my weight. Feeling like I'm just failing at another diet. I attend the monthly support groups my program offers but would love a buddy. I'm located in Central Pa and am planning to have surgery at Evangelical Community Hospital on Lewisburg with Dr. Motto. Hope to talk to you soon!

Hi Faith, I am from Pa, but will have my surgery at Geisinger in Danville on Dec 12. I was planning on having the sleeve but changed today to gastric by-pass because of my reflux problem. Good luck to you through your journey. The destination will be worth the trip. Mary Ann

Hi Faith! I'm from California but also going through the pre op process. I'm about 4 months in. The first couple of months were hard. I wanted to eat anything and everything because I thought once I have the surgery I won't be able to eat anything! After awhile I thought if nothing else this will give me an opportunity to start slow so once I have the surgery I won't have to "detox" or have any serious withdrawls. I given up soda and all carbonated drinks. Cut out most sugars but really struggle when it's that time of month :) the hardest part is eating slowly and chewing my food to mush I have not been successful with that at all. Anyway my point is it was really hard and discouraging in the beginning. I've never been successful with dieting hence the surgery. I want it enough to do the best that I can and that's all anyone can ask for. Good luck to you. It does get easier and the closer I get to surgery the more motivated I become. I love this forum for the support it offers. Take advantage everyone is here to help and encourage!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
