Not sure what comes next..

I have went through all of my pre-op check list including psychiatric evaluation. I just met with my Dr. Who said this was my pre-op visit on Wednesday and my insurance has not been approved yet. . Alison told me to start my liquid diet for two weeks prep before surgery. I do not even have a surgery date yet. Next Dr appointment is November 17th. Does any of this sound normal. I am having the surgery to fix my extreme acid reflux and very excited to have the help to lose weight as well. I feel alone as I have not gone to any meetings.

Thanks

Lori

Lori,

One of the biggest things I could possibly recommend to anyone going through this process is to surround themselves with like minded people. You made a great step posting and getting involved in this forum, but you need the personal touch as well. You need to try your best to get connect with your local support group. They will be your accountability more than any of us online could be.

Starting you on a pre-surgical liquid diet without even having a surgery date or insurance approval does seem a little odd. I would check with your doctor to make sure this is correct and what the reasoning is. With this process, knowledge is power. The more you know about what is going on, the better.

Best of luck and if you have any other questions or concerns, I will do what I can to help out and answer them.
