About 3 weeks ago I started having pain in my left upper abdomen, right under my ribs. I got worse over the next couple of days, to the point that I drank a bottle of Mag Citrate thinking maybe I was constipated. Pain continued to worsen, but only when I was standing. If I was sitting or lying down I had absolutely no pain. I finally gave in and went to ER. They did a CT with and without contrast and did not find anything out of the ordinary.

Over the next few days the pain was still present, but still only when standing. This went on for almost two weeks and then it was gone. I have no clue what this was, but it scared the hell out of me. I am 15 months post op, have lost 124 pounds, and have felt great throughout my post op. Just wondering if anyone else has experienced anything like this??

Get liver enzymes (LFTs) drawn to check the health of your gallbladder. If your LFTs are elevated, a gallbladder ultrasound should be done. Typical gallbladder pain is on the right side, but it is possible for referred pain to occur. If you no longer have a gallbladder get pancreatic enzymes drawn. Good luck, I hope they figure things out soon.

All of my labs were perfect, LFT was all WNL. Pain is better now, still comes and goes occasionally, but definitely not like it was. I hate to put my head in the sand and act like it will go away on its own, but that is pretty much where I am.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
