Without medical training, X-ray vision and a touch of psychic ability there is no way to "know" what is going on without involving the Dr. It may be even acid build-up in your pouch, simple fix, but if you are in enough pain that you feel out of your own control at least call them and don't feel guilty!! You had major surgery and rerouting so that normal feelings can be magnified and abnormal feelings, well what the heck are those?!? You are doing great and part of keeping that up is to continue taking care of yourself. As for constipation, we had surgery the same day and I just went yesterday, although I'm prone to it so I've been taking Miralax. If it's a simple fix they may not require you to come in but give you something to take OTC or by prescription to help your current state! Keep us informed. (Sorry so long)

@@freelyme okay I will. I just hated to raise a red flag in case it's just gas. My doctor is also an hour away, so I'm kinda hesitant to get in the car when in this much pain. I cannot get comfortable standing, sitting or laying down so I think a car will be awful. I don't take any of the meds you're talking about. The only meds they gave me are Zofran (anti-nausea) and oxycodone for pain. I haven't had any nausea and the liquids are going down fine. But I've stopped for the last half hour.

@Tacycakes. Go thru the list as previously suggested did you take your all your Meds. How much liquid have you gotten in? Those are all questions they lol need answers to. But Listen you just had Major surgery CALL. If nothing else if it's a simple resolution you can stop worrying.Al Sharpton's Weight t

@@tacycakes I think making a call to your Dr. is the best option. Even if he determines that it's gas or something simple, it resolves your issue and provides you with piece of mind. I agree with others that I was prescribed something for acid build up in my pouch. I didn't take it as prescribed one day and I began to have pain. When I realized it was omitted and took it, I felt much better. This may be the issue you are having. This is only speculation, therefore call your surgeon and get a REAL answer. Praying that all goes well. Keep us posted.

She said the nsaid thing was more for bypass, and she felt it would help with the hernia. I asked the nurse at the hospital and the traveling nurse as well, because I'd heard the same as you.

yep I am full bypass, so thats what I was thinking about. Lucky you, I miss my advill still.

So today is the start of Week 3 Day 1 for Puréed food and I started like usual with a Protein Drink and Water. I've been looking forward to having tuna fish again. But I m scared too. I be loss 20 LBS since my surgery what if I go into a stall or is the reality that I lose less this week. Or what if I can't stop myself from eating just 1/2 cup at one time.

I wasn't ready so I went for a walk almost 2. Miles later here I sit with 1/4 cup of tuna & 1/4 cup of cottage cheese convincing myself that I can handle it. I won't screw this up cause I want to be thin much more than I want to go back being unable to walk with out struggling and pain.

This doesn't sound fair. Everyone is losing weight but me. I was losing up to the day of surgery, and then I GAINED 2 lbs. I'm 5 days out and I still haven't lost even the two I gained. Very frustrating!

Right after surgery I gained up to 253 from 242. I lost that in a week and a half then went down to 229 until I stalled. It is totally normal at this point since you're swollen due to the surgery.

Personally I don't care about stalling. I just want to feel normal.

just eat slowly and stop right before you are full your pouch will stop you.
Cool article, things that it's good to know May or May not happen but you're not the only one. It helps to have your core group of supporters! No buyers remorse yet here but I have been forewarned just in case. Good luck everyone, may we ALL skip the buyer's remorse!

Dumb question, but dis anyone know if we can take Sudafed? I left a message for my nurses but haven't heard back and I have a sinus headache that is killing me.

Hello Everyone,

Today I went for my one week post op appointment. I am so happy to have the drain out! Yes it hurt, felt weird and it still seems very strange. Good news since starting the pre op diet I am down 30 pounds. I'm Happy about that progress!!
