Concerned about supplements for skin.

I am 1 month pre-surgery and I've been told to start taking Biotin to help with hair loss post surgery, also am reading here about Vitamin E. I am wondering if there are any cons to taking either? And what a suggested dosage would be? I thought that I'd read somewhere that vit E can cause liver problems so don't know if that is a good option?

Any one gave thoughts or know anything about this?

Don't start taking anything pre-op without checking with your doctor, especially vitamin E as it can cause increased bleeding.

Thank you for that. I asked my NUT, and she said ok, but we didn't discuss quantity. I was reading online about the benefits of E, but saw the thing about bleeding and got concerned. I'll take your advice and wat. Thx!

As previously mentioned, please consult with your NUT and doctor about any supplements. In my case, I researched high and low for the magic pill or supplement to help with skin and the hair issues that is covered in our lovely blog. I found the following pill. Its from Irwin Naturals brand - Deep Tissue Collagen- Pure. The reason i gravitated to this was because I was tired eating Jello with extra Gelatin to get in the collagen to help out the diet. I felt uncomfortable with the coloring and other unnatural ingredients that are questionable and just not good for you. So far my skin is healthy and responding slowly to the changes. I have experienced some hair loss, but I know it could be worse. I hope this helps out.

That's awesome, thanks! Somehow I started 2 threads! I haven't been back to my surgeon get to ask all of these questions, and hadn't even considered collagen. Like you I would have issues with died Jello.
