Are you passing gas? Passing gas is very important ... I didn't have my first BM until about 5 days post op

Try some prune juice or laxative.

A week is a bit long. It will be painful if you let it continue

Ask you doctor for appropriate stool softener you should use but definitely go prune juice or laxative now.

There should be a little something in there

As soon as you go to full liquid diet you can at least have reduced fat cream of chicken and it settles well I know in my stomach when its upset. Get laxatives from doctor and when you do go you may have diaherra which is normal.

I was a week out too and I used benefiber. Just mix it with some crystal light and you can't taste it. It's the best kind. Next morning I went :)

If you're on pain meds, they can shut down business. Miralax and Colase together work very well. They were recommended by my doctor.
