Paperwork sent in to insurance on August 27. BCBS-Federal approved me officially on 9/2. I received an email from BCBS Federal on 9/4 about the approval. I was notified by my surgeon's office on 9/9. Good luck to you!

Wow! That was quick, well quicker than I thought. I hope mine goes just as fast. Good luck to u! When are u scheduled?

Thanks! Yes it was quick. I get my date at my next doctors Appointment. Had my Labs and finally my EGD on this past Monday. Next docs appointment is 10/1/14. He will give me a date then.

PSRS520 -- waiting is both exciting & difficult! BCBS approved me in 5 days. Best of luck on your journey & be on the lookout for a thin white envelope -- that will be your approval letter. ???? Call your doctor's office to let them know you were approved -- if you don't hear from them first. This will speed up your surgery date.

Does all bcbs require an end?? I don't remember that being a requirement

Require an EGD***

An EGD is not needed for approval. I had mine on 9/22, weeks after I was approved. If your surgeon does not require one - run!
