More Hoops To Jump Through

Recommended Posts

Hi ya'll. Well gotta another letter from my insurance company on Friday. Now they are asking for pictures of me from 2004 and 2005. Oh and they want dates on them. They want me to prove that I am morbidly obese. I currently weigh 371, my doctor has submitted proof to this, my surgeon has submitted proof to this but still they do not believe. I guess they think I could go from 150 to 371 in less than two years??? Can you believe this??? Excuse my French but Damn ! Well I actually could gain about 50 pounds while in hibernation from January till April but --------Well here I go to look for old pictures. I hate my picture taken but I know have some somewhere here.....................They are wasting their time because I will not give in - they will cover this surgery--------

Thanks for letting me vent.

Thanks for the reply. How are your feeling? Are you still on liquids only? It looks like you are doing great. Take Care.

Wow, that's crazy! You'd think doctor and surgeon documentation on your weight would be enough.

I think I'd file a complaint with your HR department. Let them know the hassle you're being given and let them go to bat for you. That's simply outrageous!!! How dare they!?!?!?! Not to mention, us fat ladies HATE having our pictures taken and avoid it like the plague...AND how many pictures actually have DATES on them!!?!????!!! Seriously, if you haven't let HR in on it, find out who handles the benefits, make an appointment to see him/her, tell them this is STRICTLY confidential, but they are going to have to do something about this insanity!!!

((((HUGS)))) It's really frustrating to jump through all of these hoops, but once that approval is finally received, it's sweet relief!!! (Then of course the reality of it starts to set in!!!! hehe)

I'd check to see who regulates insurance in your state and file a complaint w/them, that is totally the most stupid thing I've heard of in a long time!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
