Sinus infection/cold before surgery!

So I woke up this morning with a runny nose and sore throat! I may have to get antibiotics because orange juice, soup and DayQuil is not working AND it's 10 days BEFORE my scheduled surgery :( what should I do? Has anyone gotten a cold before surgery? What's going to happen?

I'm worried about getting sick as well. My job has a mandatory flu shot requirement and my surgery is Oct 23rd. I ALWAYS get sick after getting my flu shot so I'm going to put it off for as long as I can. Hopefully, I won't have to get it until I return from my medical leave.

I would call and ask the nurse coordinator or NP that runs your bariatric program. Ask them what they think you should do being so close to surgery. Why do you think you'll need antibiotics? If it's a viral infection, you just have to let it run its course, antibiotics won't help it. Either way, I would ask them asap while you still have 10 days to take care of it.
